Enter the world of Red Dead Redemption 2
- You take a deep breath, and it’s like standing in the open plains near Emerald Ranch & Station—soft grass underfoot, prairie flowers in bloom, and a faint breeze carrying sagebrush and freedom. Out here, the day stretches as far as you can see.
- Big Valley fills your lungs with crisp mountain air and that grounding scent of pine needles. A whiff of smoky campfire trails along, reminding you of fireside stories and quiet nights under a sky scattered with stars. It’s rugged, clean, and as close as you’ll get to peace out here.
- Dust rises with every step in the dry, sun-beaten streets of Rhodes. You smell the tobacco from the fields stretching on for miles, thick in the heat and blending with the grit of hard work. It’s honest, grounded, and as warm as a Tennessee evening.
- Then there’s Saint Denis: a city alive with everything from fancy perfumes to smoky cigar lounges, wrapped in the smell of bourbon and the buzz of ambition. It’s rich and lively, with a charm as sharp as good whiskey. A place to get lost in, if you’re willing.
- Each cologne is crafted in a 15 ml bottle that’ll last you through as many rides, heists, or long days as you need it to. And with 500 sample sets available, this one might ride off into the sunset before you can say “Ok, Dutch.”
- Created for the folks who don’t usually go for “fancy” colognes, Outlaw is all about scents pulled straight from real life. No mystery chemicals, no fancy names—just authentic smells of leather, campfire, fresh-cut grass, clove, and yes, a bit of whiskey.
Hello, Arthur Morgan
You step off your horse, dirt crunching under your boots, and the land stretches out ahead like it was waiting just for you. Life here is raw, layered with scents as rich as the people and places you’ve known. The faint perfume of wild prairie blooms, the dry heat of tobacco fields, the smoky drift of pinewood fires high in Big Valley, and somewhere beyond, the spiced air of Saint Denis, buzzing with a city’s ambition.
You take it all in like a memory that’s never quite faded, but lingers sharp, each scent a reminder of the paths you’ve taken and the lives you’ve crossed. You know these places like old friends—steady, unchanging. Out here, scents are more than what you carry; they’re what you are, woven into every rough-edged memory and every quiet night on the plains.
This world wasn’t made for fancy colognes or meaningless, fine-smelling airs. It’s the smoke, leather, dirt, and grit that stay with you. If you’re ready to carry the West itself, all the way from Emerald Ranch to the wild heart of Saint Denis, well, this sample set’s ready to ride with you.
Emerald Ranch & Station: The Scent of Wide-Open Plains
Emerald Ranch & Station brings the smell of rolling green hills and wide-open skies. This scent unfolds like a prairie morning, the air full of soft grass, scattered wildflowers, and sagebrush on a light breeze. It’s fresh, grounded, and ready to remind you of open land with every breath.
Big Valley: Fresh Mountain Air and Pine
Big Valley is as crisp as the mountain air, taking you high up where the pines grow thick and the nights are cold. The scent is simple and clean, with smoky campfire on the wind and the rich aroma of pine needles underfoot. It’s as close as you’ll get to a quiet night by the fire with a sky full of stars overhead.
Rhodes: Dust, Tobacco, and Warmth
Rhodes is a hot, dry scent that rolls up like the sun over a dusty town. Fields of tobacco stretch out under the Southern sky, the smell rich and warm from the heat. There’s a hard-earned grit to it—plain and unpretentious, as solid as the dirt beneath your boots.
Saint Denis: Bourbon, Smoke, and City Ambition
Saint Denis wraps you in rich scents from the big city—the spiced air of bourbon lounges, the smooth finish of cigar smoke, and the undertone of well-worn leather. The scent is lively, with a touch of mystery and high ambition in every layer, as fine as a shot of the best whiskey. If you’ve ever been drawn to a life of excitement, Saint Denis is a welcome reminder.
A couple notes about these:
These four colognes are 15 ml each (which lasts a really long time). Will we make 100 ml bottles? Not sure yet... it depends on how these sell.
The Cologne for People Who Aren't "Cologne People"
Outlaw’s been called “the cologne for people who don't like cologne” because of our incredible variety of real-life-inspired scents: leather, campfire, fresh-cut grass, clove, and even whiskey!
We believe that the best scents in life are from real life. We don't believe in drenching people in strange musk-based “pheromone” concoctions (those aren’t real, by the way). We believe that the people who are right for you will be attracted to your own scent in your most natural state.
Whether riding a horse across the plains of the Big Valley (Arthur Morgan, we're looking at you) or sitting in a beautiful, worn leather armchair, sipping a very fine bourbon in Saint Denis, Outlaw’s scents are designed to pair perfectly with your already-awesome life.
About Outlaw Cologne
There aren’t a lot of companies doing what we’re doing because (let’s be honest) not everyone wants to smell like campfire or leather. But we think real-life scents are the best scents around.
As we often say, “We’d rather be one person’s shot of whiskey than everyone’s cup of tea.”
We also know our colognes aren't the cheapest on the market, but you don’t want to smell like every Tom, Dick, and Mary anyway. Our scents aren’t made by massive brands like Tom Ford or Calvin Klein or created by huge fragrance houses.
We're just a little band of Outlaws living our (and hopefully YOUR) dreams in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains in lovely Sparks, Nevada.
Our cologne is made in small batches, individually (by hand), by people who love their jobs and want you to be happy.
We use a combination of natural and synthetic fragrances to bring the most interesting scents to you in the most sustainable, ethical, and safest way possible.

Each scent is complex and unique. I like the Big Valley one the most, but all are good. I hope they all are popular enough to be mass produced in the larger size. The slight downside is the sprayers are cheaper than older ones I've had in the previous samplers and don't work well. Fortunately, I've kept older bottles and use the sprayers off them.
This tribute to Red Dead Redemption 2 has been underappreciated! The set includes four colognes inspired by locations in the game: Big Valley, Saint Denis, Rhodes, and Emerald Ranch & Station. The period style labels make the bottles fun to display, and the scents deliver.
Like some other reviewers, I am obsessed with Rhodes. Danielle and Russ truly captured something special with this one. It's warm - hot, even - with smoky notes that really do evoke the imagery of the dusty, rugged town. I can't stop smelling it. I'll be more than a little heartbroken if this gem is phased out before its rightful time.
The Saint Denis inspired fragrance is hot on its heels in my books, and almost defies description for me. I couldn't name any of the notes, but it is absolutely a light, sexy fragrance that smells expensive - think the luxury of a grand old hotel reimagined for today. Like all Outlaw scents I've tried, it's perfectly unisex, but certainly the most feminine leaning of the four.
Big Valley is exactly what it says on the tin - fresh mountain air, pine, the warm smoke of a fireplace - and while it comes on strong, I am telling you now: it actually dries down wonderfully. I personally don't like the smell of pine on myself, so this little bottle made a very appreciated gift for my father.
Last up is Emerald Ranch & Station: one of my personal favorite locations in-game. This one opens with a sharp green note that could be intimidating to some. After a few seconds, that initial sharpness settles into the rest of the blend and it. Is. LOVELY. It is a very fresh, complex green scent. There's lots of greenery and a subtle floral. I love it on myself, and I would love it on a dude.
If you've been on the fence about trying this set, please try it! I would buy all of these in 100mL bottles in a heartbeat, and I would love to see the Outlaws develop more RDR2 inspired scents - perhaps some character studies in fragrance form?
I love these. I didn't know if I'd be crazy about *all* of them, so tried Saint Denis first, figured from the notes that would be my favorite, however each one I tried after that is amazing in their own ways, too. I wish they came in bigger bottles, but I'll repurchase as long as they have them around, which I'm worried they won't be so I may have to preemptively stock up. I want them as a permanent collection but I'll just say if you're on the fence about these, get them! I love RDR and collecting scents, trying new ones so this was just a crossover I couldn't pass up... these are my first buy from this brand but based on these, I will definitely be trying the scents from the regular lines.
Great scents, the only one that I would change is Big Valley, it’s pretty strong and not quite a scent I would associate with that location. Other than that they are some really cool smelling colognes and hit the Red Dead themed nail on the head.
Was excited to try out the Redemption set as an avid lover of the game. The bottles are awesome, very sturdy glass and epic logos. My opinions on scents however… Emerald Station and Big Valley didn’t seem to be noticeably different and were quite overpowering in the “cut grass” scent department. Rhodes is heavy with Sandalwood and a slight smokey, albeit in a something not good is burning kind of way, but definitely could work for the gruff outdoorsmen. Saint Denis is a little lighter on the in your face scent, but still had a double dose of Sandalwood and less of the floral I was expecting. All in all, they’re not bad scents, just not what I was expecting based off the descriptions and hoped for more diversity among them. Would recommend for heavy Grass/Sandalwood lovers. (Or just for the bottles, they do make a great shelf piece.)
Still sampling. Earthy, spicy, grass and smoke.
all smell great and last the test of time, just the one i was excited about came with a faulty spray cap and has since been shelved til i figure out what todo with it.
Do you love the smokey smell of campfire? How about the pungent scent of an aged whiskey? How about the peppery musk of gunpowder? Well, if you said hell yes to any of these three scents, then you need to look into the men’s care products made by Outlaw.
