Howdy! I said I'd post my review of The Gambler when I received it and got to shower with it, so here it is.
I like it better than Blazing Saddles. For sure. The scent just fits me better. However, rather than talking about the scent first - I'm going to start with its merits as a soap.
I don't know what it is. Placebo, a different nozzle or maybe a different mix of ingredients - but the bottle of The Gambler I have lathers FAR better than the Blazing Saddles. I was extremely impressed with it. Being natural ingedients, they didn't irritate my sensitive skin - just like Blazing Saddles.
The scent. This one is interesting. In the bottle, it smells of cherries. When I was applying it, it smelled faintly of cherries and strongly of cheap alcohol - which was dismaying. Once I got out of the shower, dried myself and dressed... man. This stuff smells absolutely fantastic. I'm not picking up a STRONG tobacco smell, but there is a smokiness/spiciness to the scent that couldn't possibly be anything else. The faint cherry smell seems to remain, which is more than likely the smell of the bourbon mixing with the leather. As I said in my review of Blazing Saddles, I don't have much of a nose for identifying different scents. I can tell you it smells great, but whether or not it smells like Tobacco, Bourbon and Leather... I can't confirm. Blazing Saddles smelled STRONGLY of leather to the point of being near overpowering. You KNEW what you were smelling. The Gambler is far more subtle, but it suits me better.
The packaging was great as was the delivery time. I may yet try out Calamity Jane, but these two bottles I own will last me for a good amount of time. However, I'll definitely be buying some deodorant in The Gambler range. I may have found THE scent for me!
