It's going to be a hot day. You're taking advantage of the cool morning air to get miles between you and the last town. No one travels across the Mojave after eleven o'clock, not even the US Marshal.
The breeze is already warming up, carrying the desert's heat with it. The next town may be a good place to stop.
The hotel is a fancy number, but you've got plenty of cash. As you walk in, you feel the manager's eyes on you. It's your old flame from home, all grown up, and in this middle-of-nowhere desert town. The heat between you rivals the sun rising outside. You set down your saddlebags. The Lust in the Dust Candle* has ignited the passion within.
It’s time to come clean.
Burn Time: Though we realize "burn time" is an important candle metric, we have been unable to faithfully establish a burn time. We lit the candle and had to put it out when we went home... and we've done that for days, and it still hasn't hardly burned down at all. So, it lasts a very, very long time.

How to use
Light the little pointy-up fabric bit in the middle of the wax with a flaming implement of some sort. This is evolution at its finest: fire on command, in your house, in a contained manner. So civilized!
WARNING: This is STILL FIRE, my friend. Don't leave this burning unattended, or in the vicinity of cats (whose curiosity is notoriously killer), or near the hindquarters of overly enthusiastic dogs who might sweep a candle off of a table with a happy dog tail. I trust your survival instincts. Fire is still fire.
