This morning, I asked Russ if he'd mind lending his very handsome hands so I could take some photos of him using Outlaw's Garage, our newest handmade soap. It's a gritty soap intended for washing your hands after doing the kind of work that makes washing hands a tedious and arduous process.
"Sure!" he said, good naturedly. "What do I need to do?"
"Just, you know, get some grease on your hands so I can take photos of you washing it off."
"Oh great!" Russ said, going into the garage.
He came back with a full oil drain catch thingie (what are they called? I'm drawing a blank) and said, "How's used motor oil?"
I thought it was fine, but then he REALLY went for it with the motor oil, and I got worried that it would look too staged... so I grabbed some of my printing ink and added it to the mix. Because if our soap could make it through motor oil AND printmaking ink, well, I was confident.
And as it turns out, my confidence was not misplaced! Russ scrubbed his hands for a few seconds and before I was really even finished with the photos, his hands were too clean to be much good for the photo shoot!
So there you have it, friends! The Outlaw's Garage Soap is so perfectly effective that it's almost TOO GOOD TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED!
