Hey Steph! Thanks for joinin' us! To start with, what's your favorite Outlaw activity (or activities)?
Time was when I traveled every chance I could get. I've put my hand in dinosaur footprints, been to the top of Pikes Peak, down into gold mines in Cripple Creek, explored Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Mazama (where Crater Lake is), and more.
Oh, and I've trained astronauts and sat console for Space Shuttle missions; that was my day job before I retired. (It's kind of why you can call me the Space Cowgirl.)
Being handicapped, these days I don't manage a lot of that stuff anymore. But I do write books -- mostly science fiction mysteries, and the occasional popular science book.
Yeah, I guess I really AM one of those rocket scientists you hear about...
Your favorite Outlaw scent is Calamity Jane. Why's that your favorite?
I love Calamity Jane because I've always loved spices -- cinnamon, cloves, and such. I can't wear floral scents because I'm allergic to most of 'em, but I can always do musks, spices, leather, ambers, and scents like that. But I REALLY love the spices!
In general, what do you love best about Outlaw? We're always anglin' for compliments.
I grew up in Tennessee, a little ways outside Nashville, and really can't remember a time when I didn't have cowboy boots. (I go in and out of wearing cowboy hats, but I've always had cowboy boots.) For a time I kept horses too, but now I'm handicapped and can't ride or even take care of them anymore. So I put my horses to pasture and let them live to a nice old age and die. I miss them.
But your scents remind me of walking into the tack room of the barn, and taking a deep whiff of that leather scent, and the smell of the new-mown pasture, and things I love.
The spicier scents (like Calamity Jane) remind me a lot of Christmas at home. I guess I'm an ol' cowgirl lookin' back on her life, and your fragrances help me remember the best parts.
