This here is a soft "boulce" (so says the description on the wholesale site) soap bag with the remnants of a bar of Lust in the Dust all squished up inside.
I have been using this little sack for the past two or so weeks. I ordered these on a whim just to see how they worked out, and then totally forgot about them until Ruth asked me what we're going to do with them. I asked to try one, and now here you're seeing the results of those weeks of testing.
Ruth warned / reminded me that the soap would likely melt to nothing quite quickly if left inside the bag, since, as you may remember from my video, soap needs air flow to last as long as possible. Since my goal is to create the absolute worst experience possible (thereby ensuring that anything better than that is acceptable), I decided to use this bag and leave the soap to melt away inside of it.
I am happy to report that the "worst possible experience" WAS FANTASTIC.
The bag is just wonderful. It's scrubby without being scratchy, it suds up the soap nicely, and it's pretty dang adorable. And the soap, despite being a squishy mess inside the bag, still exists and is still sudsing up. It kind of has created a makeshift shower gel (if you want an actual shower gel, sign up for stock notifications for our new body wash, coming soon), and I imagine that the soap will last about three or four weeks, which is about the same amount of time as a bar of soap treated with care and left to air-dry between uses!
We'll be offering these boulce bags to newsletter subscribers starting this week, so sign up and look for that email announcement:
