We had such high hopes.
After all, a couple years ago, we had shaving soap and not only did it sell out in just a few days, it got rave reviews:
"I started wet shaving about a year ago and I'll never go back. It helped turn a boring, dreaded task into a ritual. The Gambler shaving soap is fantastic. It has a great scent, loads easily with my brush, and creates a nice, slick lather. All I need now is for ya'll to make an aftershave. Thanks for the great product." - David
(and it went on, but we're on limited space here)
Since then, people ask for it a couple times every month. We've been saying, "Wait, wait, wait... it's coming..."
We weren't lying. Or, rather, we weren't intentionally lying.
But the other day when we got ready to wrap these bad boys up and put 'em on the site, we made a dismaying discovery: They didn't smell.
Not just, "they didn't smell strongly." They truly, really, honestly, just didn't smell like anything.
I'm not gonna say we're old (I'm not not gonna say it, either), but we've been around for a few years, and in those years, we've learned that you love Outlaw Soaps because our stuff smells like Outlaw Soaps, and you can't get that scent anywhere else.
You might say we've built our entire company on scents.
So as much as we'd loooove to sell you shaving soap -- it's truly great shaving soap! --, we can't sell it under any of the scent names that you've come to know and love. We just can't.
We're trying to figure out what to do with this essentially unscented shaving soap. In the mean time, please accept my apology. We truly did it with the best of intentions.
Very disappointed about the lack of Blazing Saddles shaving soap. I contacted you a month or so about it and I am almost out now. I understand your production issue and wish you the best. Maybe it can be melted down and re-scented? Please notify me when it is available again. I will increase my order to avoid facing morning without that great scent!
