A few notes:
  1. Rick H, my friend, told me he found a recipe online, so I decided to look it up. I can't take credit for this idea.
  2. I haven't yet used this recipe, so I can't tell you how it works. If you decide to make laundry soap from our soaps at your own risk, please let me know how it goes. We just bought detergent, otherwise I'd try it.
  3. We have shavings from our soaps when we trim them, so we may run out. If you want shavings, please note it on your order. Because of shipping and the fact that we've got to keep our business running, we can only send 15 oz of shavings with an order of $25 or more. However, 15 oz should last you a very long time.
That said... Home made laundry detergent! Not only is it cheaper than store bought detergent, it smells better because it's made with our specially awesome soap! I have looked at recipes from many sources, but the Happy Money Saver's includes some extra ingredients, pictures, and a testimonial from a guy in the military. If you want to see the original post, click here. I have modified it a bit, because I can't manage to do anything the right way. Ingredients 15 oz. of shaved Outlaw Soaps (free) 1 Box of Super Washing Soda 3 lb. 7 oz. ($3.24) 1 Box of Borax 4 lbs 12 oz. size ($3.38) 1 Box of Pure Baking Soda 4 lb. ($2.12) 1 container of Oxy-Clean 1.3 lb ($3.86) 1 pint-sized mason jar 1/2 cup crushed ice 3 oz. Jameson Whiskey * 1 Bottle of chilled Ginger Beer   Chop, food process, or blend the shaved Outlaw Soap into very tiny pieces... more of a dust, really. Put the soap dust in a lidded bin with the washing soda, Borax, baking soda, and Oxy-clean. Mix thoroughly. Put the lid back on the bin. When you want to do laundry, use 1 - 2 tablespoons per load. If you feel like that's just not enough, use more. But more is not necessarily more effective, so err on the minimal side. Add crushed ice to mason jar and pour Jameson over ice. Pour ginger beer over mixture. Reflect on how wonderful life is.   * If you do not drink, please exclude this ingredient.
