6 Years of Outlaw Soaps, thanks to customers like YOU

March 15, 2013: Russ and I launched a website featuring Fire in the Hole, Unicorn Poop (along with some other scents that aren't with us any longer). We were relatively new to soapmaking, but we had huge dreams of creating a multi-million dollar company based on awesomely scented sundries. (we're still not quite there yet...)

"Who would want to smell like campfire? Or unicorn feces? Or clove?" people wondered both at us directly and behind our backs.

Six years later, we confidently know the answer: YOU do.

As it turns out, lots of people don't want to smell like flowers and coconuts, they want to smell real and like real adventure.

Funny enough, this post from Hiconsumption went viral the other day*, and if you see the comments, plenty of people are wondering why they'd want to shower with something that smells like they do all the time, every day, just living their lives. This is the exact kind of thing we love to hear... we think of our products as supportive of an adventurous life, not the substitution for an adventurous life.

It's really wonderful to get to know and love all the people who believe that Outlaw Soaps are the best scent soundtrack for their lives. Whether we're seeing your posts on Instagram (hey, Outlaw Soaps loves Instagram) or if you're following Outlaw Soaps on Facebook, it's a joy to know our type of folks: Outlaws.

Thanks for making our company what it is today. We wouldn't be here without customers like you!

* Which is why we're stone cold steve outski of Fire in the Hole Campfire Soap. And if you wonder why we don't just make more, you might be interested in our post about our ingredients and process behind handmade soap.

I ordered soap from hot way back in 2014 after your site showed up on a “cool gifts for guys” list or something. All the soaps got used up and enjoyed.

Except Unicorn Poop.

I still have my bar of because I couldn’t bring myself to use it. It sits in my desk drawer and I get a waft of it every day at work. That beautiful soap cheers me up every time I smell it because that scent is CRAZY good!!! Please, please bring it back so I can use it :)
