I was dubious at first. The leather is REALLY overpowering until you shake the bottle a bit, and then more of the gunpowder smell really starts to come out. If I had to describe how it smelled after a shower, it'd be a 'spicy' leather sort of smell. It was amazing on the first wash, though - it made the place smell like a saddlery. To my nose, it wasn't terribly strong after the shower - but others could certainly smell it! If you've ever wondered what the 1800s smelled like and can't quite make it to Tombstone, this stuff will answer your question for sure. I don't exactly have a trained nose, so I couldn't pick up on the sagebrush or sandalwood.
Also, don't forget - this stuff is SOAP. It'll get you clean. I have sensitive skin, and found no issues using it whatsoever. It creates a good lather with the help of a loofah. I'm maybe 1/4 through my bottle, and it's been about a week. I shower 2x a day, however, so I essentially use double the product. At my usage, I could probably stretch it to a month per bottle. Obviously, your mileage may (will) vary. Personally, I'd be quite happy paying $15 a month (or less if you use the subscription service) for a bodywash of this quality.
That said, I don't think Blazing Saddles is the scent for me. I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's great soap and smells exactly like the bottle suggests. It just doesn't work for me. Blazing Saddles smells great, but it's definitely a unique and polarising scent. It's definitely not going to be for everyone. At the moment, it still has my glowing recommendation - but I intend to try a few other scents offered by Outlaw and will review those particular scents accordingly. I've ordered a bottle of The Gambler, and I'll be posting a review on that once it arrives.
Beyond this, Outlaw offers some of the best customer service around. They're not kidding when they say they are absolutely committed to 100% customer satisfaction. That's the benefit of buying from a small business in my eyes; the PEOPLE factor. If you're not satisfied with your product or have any questions; reach out to them! They're fast, friendly and they know their stuff. They've earned my patronage for sure.
